Anastasiia Vorobiova
Media artist. Originally from Ukraine, lives and works in Poland. Graduated from KNUTD (Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design) with a Master’s degree. Her work involves research-based artistic practice combining performance with new technologies. Focuses on methods of integrating the actor in real time with virtual reality. Through her oeuvre, she also explores the connection between consciousness and “owning a virtual body” while asking questions regarding boundaries of states, races and genders in the virtual world. Anastasiia’s works, conceptual and intuitive alike, are poetic quests for digital existence. Her projects were shown in galleries and theatres and at festivals, such as the International Festival of Cracow Composers (audiovisual installation “Artificial Soundscapes”), International Festival Organ Music Days in Cracow (“Divine Comedy” performance), “Bunker of Art” Gallery in Cracow (holographic installation “Solaris”), Vox Electronica in Kyiv (audiovisual performance “Transmission”), Wanda Siemaszkowa Theatre in Rzeszów (VR theatrical performance “Veni Vidi VR”), Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw (“Malina”/”Raspberry” project), MICET Interactive Museum / Theatre Education Centre in Cracow (VR installation), Cricoteka Tadeusz Kantor’ Art Documentation Centre in Cracow (big scale digital video story/ mapping). Member of the Dream Adoption Society – collective with a focus on exploring virtual and augmented reality in the context of contemporary art and theatre; and GrupLab – academic and research collective of the Electroacoustic Music Studio of Academy of Music in Cracow.
